Counting down to 2 weeks... looking back from the start of proposal...preparation for ROM... preparation for Wedding... its been one and a half year... will our lifestyle change after that? Scarily... I will miss my home... the one I have been living for 20 over years... :(

Food Tasting on 15 Nov 09
Glad that our parents are satisfied with the menu except for one dish which we will make slight changes for the ingredients as discussed with the chef. The table was also set up in the theme we chose, still thinking whether to stick with the theme or not. And if yes, slight changes have to be made. Keeping a suspense here... hee
Trying of jacket for both father on 16 Nov 09
ZL's father has a hard time getting one due to his size so his will be tailor make. My father has no problem getting his except that needs to buy new pants cos the old ones are loose. Accompany him to buy 2 pants at BHG. After that meet ZL to view the photos layout.

MV Doulos
Heard from my colleague about this ship (older than Titanic) is here in SG! A book fair on the ship! Interesting isnt it?
We managed to find her dock at The Promenade. The stairs up the ship is abit scary for me...cos instead of the usual steps, its rounded (imagine the shape of half cyclinder mould to the ladder). afraid that I might lose my balance I grabbed the handles with both my hands whereas my colleague was far ahead of me...haa... so lang bei...
Both of us only realised that we forget to use the flyer (entitle to 10%) after paying for the books. :(

Printing of cards
Related to the previous post... we went lil-art as recommended by the hotel on Sat to check out their products. The charges $140 for 250pcs and subsequent 50 pcs at $5. The same day ZL went JB (City Square) to rackey. The quote from one of the shop was RM125 for 250 pcs. They even have the samples for the hotel and its exactly the same! So needless to say, we will be going JB next weekend to place our order. Yeah, can soon bian do some shopping...hee

Up coming tasks to be done
Just when we have been wondering when the hotel co-ordinator will contact us regards to printing of invitation card and food tasting and wanted to give them a call after checking the mail which she had stated the time frame/deadline of the tasks but before we do that received an email from her 2 weeks ago! My god, what if we didn't check the mail? miss the deadline? She didn't even call us after sending the mail! Perhaps she did, just that we didn't answer her call cos its a unfamiliar number. Haiz... not happy*
Cards Printing
MO recommended 2 cards printing company. We called up 1 of our friends who signed up with them before. Damn the price is much cheaper 2 years ago...inflation mah??? Thinking of printing at JB (heard its cheaper), shall decide after they come back with the quotation whether its worth the hassle of travelling across the sea not.
Food Tasting
MO provide a few dates in Oct and Nov. Looking at Oct but ZL's mum have to attend wedding dinner that day so have to be in Nov. Hmm on 15th (we don't want to have it too late cos its nearing the customary day) ... our 1st year ROM anniversary. Actually planned for a short trip to either Bintan or Batam that weekend :( have to forgo the idea le... Anyway, it will be as memorable too! Free 8 course dinner at the hotel!!! haa...

Long weekend
We have missed the date 09-09-09 due to work commitments but we spent 20-09-2009 together :) its not as enjoyable as 19-09-2009
Was at BL over the looonngg weekend.
19-09-2009 (Sat)
At home in the morning to overlook the contractor (foreign worker) who came to mend the holes on the ceiling. He took 2 hours alone amending the kitchen, living room and masterbed room! Clean up abit before he go...mum asked me to give him drinks and packets of biscuits. Iam surprise that he took the biscuits (its like norm for him or has he expect us to give?)...not that I look down, rather I think of it as his pay is low and alone in SG...the biscuits to us is less than $2 a packet could save him abit and provide warmth.
Did further cleaning but not good enough...*gulity* cos meeting ZL at 2pm and already late...in the end mum do most of the cleaning. Pickup point at JE, went down to Chinatown CTC to give them (ZL's new passport) details. Oh we have booked our package for honeymoon...a place with Kimchi, Ginseng Chicken... hee Korea! Why we decide on Korea? Hmm wanted to go USA/ Hokkaido... Firstly, the departure is in Jan (offpeak period) so USA might not be a safe choice. Secondly, we don't really like the itinerary for Hokkaido so ended up with Korea cheaper compare to both. :)
Check out the package for Bintan and Batam at Kent Holidays (recommended by my cousin who frequent Bintan).
Next stop, Orchard... ZL wanted to watch a movie but only left the front rows so we spent our time at Gloria Jeans la kopi. Since a long time we do that... enjoy it! Shopped at Taka... didn't expect to get something but in the end spent alot! :( ZL didn't stop me! Of cos la not his money! Hurr... Dinner was at Old Town (Chuntin rd)... Home Sweet Home
20-09-2009
Went MacDonld @King Albert Centre, to sort the guest list. After that was at Ikea, bought a pot of plant. The black brown plank (as shelf for the room) was temp sold out. :(

Choosing of Pre-Wedding Photos
We have fixed the date to choose the photos on 29th Aug. But realised that I will be going for company's teambuilding for that weekend so requested to reschedule to 22nd Aug. It has been a year since we bought the package from them (bridal shop). Till now, the service is still consider good, no complaints yet (except for the flowers which are not so fresh)...we have also paid all the remaining amounts (1 item off the list).
Choosing of photos isn't easy. We reached there 5.30pm and only finish at 8plus! Though we have made an agreement that the max we will buy is 3 photos but we ended up with extra 4 photos and 5 pages! Because of the layout that we need extra photos...just imagine one side of the page with indoor shots and the other side with outdoor, it will be mismatch isit? So we have to arrange the pics in such a way that both pages are of the same theme.
The photos turn out quite well except for night ones maybe cos we are all tired. The layout draft will be ready in a month's time. :)

Pre-Wedding Photoshoot
This is one of the day I have been looking forward. Didn't have good sleep for the past few days...thinking about this and that...abit stress...for no reason! Haa...
Prior to the actual day, we did our check list for things to be brought. Sunflowers, bears, dress, nu bra, shirts, ties and shoes. The appointment was 10am but we reached there around 9am. Finally the make-up artist (Yuki) arrived...my makeup and hairstyling begins...while the guys went out for breather. By the time my makeup done, its already 11plus...had lunch and start "working"...
1st outfit : Cheongsam
This was tailor made at one of the shops in Far East. Yuki says as a warm up wear this outfit first...hmm...photographer (TS) asked what kind of pics we prefer and understand more from us before we proceed.
2nd outfit : Evening Dress
Touch up my make up and change hair style...my poor hair was being spray with lots of hairspray...removing pins putting back the pins again...
3rd outfit : Wedding Gown
Again, change hair style and touch up. The part which I like most is when we are given flower petals to throw also with the help from Yuki. Haa...fun!
And a few shoots outside the studio.
Before going outdoor, touch up again and change hair style (can imagine how many times my hair is being sprayed!) The weather was still ok with alittle drizzle.
1st stop, Botanic Garden
Peter says its his first time there...haa we are glad that have asked him to drive us around. It save us alot of time. Surprisingly the park was quite crowded with students, tourists and couples...I thought weekdays will have less people around but am wrong.
2nd stop, Hortpark & Henderson Waves
Hortpark...the spiral staircase and wooden swing is a must to take...I nearly fell off the swing :P
Henderson Waves...hmm the curvy wooden planks...ZL was being requested by TS to carry me...haa poor him...cos the gown adds on to my weight.
3rd stop, Sentosa
We are suppose to change into another outfit. Forgo the short dress and change into casual wear. As I left my bra in the car, ZL went to get it, and TS was on the phone. I was left alone with strangers looking at me and taking my photo! Felt uneasy...I think they are tourist...or foreigners working here. Hmm...one asked me isit my actual day today. The other couple requested to take a snap of me. I said ok (thinking at least they have the courtesy to asked)...but little did I expect that its the man who wants to take with me. Even asked (with a accent) whether he can hold my hand (though I didn't really get what he said and when he repeat the 2nd time, I roughly figure that either he wants to hold my hand or put his hand on me)! I replied "NO". Hurrr shouldn't have agree taking the pic...what am I thinking!
Anway, we managed to take afew pics with the sunset scene. I feel we are special cos the rest of the couples are wearing gowns and suits at the beach.
4th stop and the last, Fullerton
Changed into cheongsam again...took a few night scenes. Finally everything ended at 8plus...was so hungry by then. Drive TS back to the bridal shop and return the gown. Had dinner and dessert as a form of reward for ourselves after a hard day work! Haa... Its a wonderful & unforgettable experience for me.

Lunch at The Central
Ever since my office relocate to Harbourfront, we have been wanting to go back Clarke Quay for lunch.
So far we have succeeded, twice! Haa... its because we have to leave at least 10mins early to catch the train... and we are all rubber-timer!
Things that cannot be missed : The Kung-Fu tea with pearls, nice! Yummy japanese custard breads, bought some for my colleagues.
And this newly open candy shop, bought 2 packs back... hmm my colleague suggested this as wedding flavour but its abit expensive the cost is just like wedding cakes!

Refreshment Course
Is it appropriate to call it as refreshment course? Finally, we have made an effort to go somewhere less crowded to practice my driving skills. Haa...it has been 2 years since I got the licence but only driven not more than 3 times. Hopefully, we can keep this going until Iam confident to drive out into the main road. :)

Roadshow @ Mandarin Oriental
Was informed and invited by our co-ordinator that the hotel is having a roadshow on 3 May 09, from 12pm-5pm. Was surprise that its open to public too! and its free! usually you need to pay the "registration fee"...hmm maybe cos it doesn't include high-tea. But they do provide the signature mocktails and dishes (in spoon portion).
We reached there around 2plus. Was "aww..." by 1st display at the grand ballroom....Garden Theme, with sunflowers!!! (or maybe its because that's my favourite flower?) hmm... Dream Theme, abit dark cos they use black and sliver table cloth and chair cover. Love Theme, abit plain...cos all was in ivory color even the flowers. Lastly, the Happiness Theme, ang gong gong...with a lantern sticking over the table in the center...can be quite a hinder for guests to take their food. I have attended the Love and Happiness Theme before.... hmm thinking which one should we choose...
We were being brought around by the staff and even get to chat with the chef who introduced the dishes one by one with brief explanation....very impressive... (glad that we settled with them).
Mood was abit affected when I got to know that one of ZL friend happened to know the co-ordinator there and she got alot of perks which we don't have...ZL tried to console me by saying "Like that her friend don't earn (from the deal). Hurr anyway, we have already paid deposit, can't ask for more liao... So be smart (and thickskin...haa), try to ask for perks when havn't sign the contract. (no choice for us, cos there was another party who was also aiming at the same date).
Didn't know cameras are allow. Hmph! I used my phone...cannot bring out the color due to the lighting... :( attached 2 which I like... :)
Real or Dummy?

Its not the makeup...its the brightness near the entrance... anyway Iam the extra haa :p

Went Spotlight over the weekend. Bought curtains for the room. The sales assistant is kind enough to inform us that they are having 30% off for curtains but provided that you are member. So we sign up on the spot with no obligation! Which saves us alot! *Grin*
Also bought a TV, as its too good a bargain to be resisted. Haa...But lose out on the rebates if only I have receive the Everyday card...will be waiting for it to be mailed to me before getting the mattress.

Marriage Convention 2009
Heard this programme on radio. Bought the tickets on topic - Marriage That Think. (Back track abit, was quite surprise that they split up the topics in such a way that you need to buy tickets to attend. I thought one ticket will cover all the topic! Ha... really know how to earn $). Though the ticket is not costly ($18 per couple) but if were to attend all then its another issue.
Anyway, Iam glad we went for this despite of the thoughts having to wake up early on a Sat morning...Have to say the speakers (Mitch & Rhonda) is great. They shared their experiences and views and the problems that couple face.

Corsages
I came across this website that sell corsages. A few of them caught my eye...suddenly I have this idea... why not make my own corsage!! It will be meaningful...So make it a point that I went Spotlight over the weekend to get the materials. At first I chose a dark red rose...but ZL said it look auntie-ish.... Hmm the pink one which they are selling is not nice...so we settle with white color. Match it off with white ribbons and white pearl... Hope my jie-meis will like it... moreover it is easy to match with any colors you wear. *wink*
So here I am on leave today, making the corsages... hee

Nothing-to-do
Just change the template now... oh, can see that the number of entries is decreasing...Hmm what had happened in Year 2005? That I have so many things to write about??? Maybe, I will spend some time reading my past entries...

Building our nest #1
Loos mentioned that I should write a journal of my marriage preparation...hmm...sometimes its sort of lazy and Iam afraid that will bore you guys out there...haa...
Ok, I'll just update alittle as it goes...Have been spending our weekends browsing at furnitures...we have been to the same place over and over again....Frankly speaking, I grew tire out of it! Till I get so 'fed up' that I told ZL, "can you just decide on a piece which you like and bring me there before you make payment?" Sometimes I feel like am wasting my time... I meant if I wanna take exam in June, I can't afford to spend all my weekends on that right? Haiz...just rumbling...I still enjoy the process :)
Anyway, so far we have bought a 2-seater sofa from John Erdos , bedframe, mirror and basket from Barang Barang , a tv console from Harvey Norman and a "chair" w/o legs from Muji. We were lucky that all the items except the sofa were bought during sales. At this point, you must be wondering how can a room accomodate so many stuffs right? Hmm...ZL's room is in a rectangle shape...so we will be dividing the room into living room and bedroom section. The wardrobe and study table will be custom-make due to space constraint (after catering to the big items). Hopefully, the room won't look cramp...

Was on leave on Fri...Went for a review on my molescar, on certain days it itch and the wound isn't perfect...have this small lump popping out, doc say could be due to infection or scratch while in the process of healing. Done a skin peel for my back...hope to lighten or get rid of the pimple marks...
Went for facial which was in the same area. Hmm the gal that serve me is quite young, feel that she is inexperience. Didn't really enjoy the session in fact was hoping that it end quickly.
Took a train to Bugis (trying to kill some time while waiting for ZL). Then a bus to Park Mall. Was quite disappointing...not much shops in the mall, left the place for Marina Barrage. Woo I didn't know that the place we used to have steamboats (during my school days) have changed so much!!! Its quite a hot weather that day. We stayed in the aircon room as long as we can (luckily there is articles about the reservoir)...Didn't really explore much...Maybe can revisit some other day in the evening...Took some photos, was quite hazy that day...but still able to see Spore flyer hee...people having picnic at the rooftop (hmm in such a warm weather?) I would rather go Botanic Garden...with more shades....
Thought of catching that Hui-ge movie at Great World but its not showing there, so walk around and head back home...
How's everyone valentine day? We exchangedpresentscards hee...cost cutting... Do you notice that not many girls holding bouquet of flowers on the streets? Maybe due to the economy hor...
Meet up with P & wife...they had an appointment with their Interior Designer. As ID has another appointment with his client, we just roughly gave him the idea of what we planned to do and he roughly gave us a quote. Will look around for comparison...went The Cathay for a movie-The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons (tickets complimentary from ZL's company). Just before the show, we went Barang Barang...spotted on a bedframe that we both like and its on 40% discount due to the Valentine Day promotion!!! They are able to store the frame for us till Jun. After which we might have to pay for the storage or maybe move it to ZL's place. Hmm...its another item off the list...don't have to think of it le.

I would rather go Botanic Garden...with more shades....
Thought of catching that Hui-ge movie at Great World but its not showing there, so walk around and head back home...
How's everyone valentine day? We exchanged

A new home? Maybe not...
All along I have been wanting to have a house that belong to myself. I can decorate, buy new furnitures, invite friends/ relatives to come over during weekends or festive seasons.
Hmm...but for now I have to stick with the idea of living with in-laws. The thought of it make me should I say shudder? I have heard of stories from friends and colleagues...Although my in-laws are nice-to-get-along folks but still worry about it. Iam trying to convince myself that it would not happen in my case...but its difficult to say so cos of SIL... Hmm trying to buy her "heart" now inorder to make my life easier next time...ha
Meantime, I have to forgo 2 appointments with HDB (BTO and half yearly sales), which both queue numbers are around 2500+. Surprisingly, we still get to choose but its very limited. Marsiling Vista (or was it Straits Vista) only left with low floors and those facing the industry/ causeway which will only be ready in 2012. Half yearly sales left with punggol and sengkang...haiz does that mean that I will not have the priority as 1st timer when I apply for balloting next round?
